Biography NAGY Ferenc (Nagy Ferenc)
(1903-1979) Born October 8, 1903 at Byss. After World War I made a living newspaper articles on the farm, joined the Peasants People's Party. With the economic downturn that has gripped Hungary after 1929, came from the ranks of the party and together with Z. Tilda took part in the creation of the Party of the independent small farmers. Despite the resistance of the authorities, the party is gradually consolidating its position in parliament. Nagy was elected to Parliament in 1939. In 1944 he was arrested by the Nazis. After the war, became chairman of the party of small farmers. In the newly created Republic of Hungary, Nagy served as minister of reconstruction, in late 1945 became the Speaker of the National Assembly, and in February 1946 the Prime Minister. In 1947, during a visit to Switzerland, was notified about the undesirability of his return to the country and emigrated to the U.S.. Nagy died in a Fairfax (pc. Virginia) 12 June 1979.
