Biography Rudolf Serkin (Serkin Rudolf)
(1903-1991) Brilliant technique, the subordinate tasks bright and deeply heartfelt interpretation of the music, Serkin made one of the greatest concert pianist of his generation. He was born in Eger (Hungary) 28 March 1903 in a family originating from Russia. He made his debut with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 1915; American debut in Washington in 1933. In addition to solo concerts, musicians often performed in an ensemble with his father - a violinist A. Bush. In 1949, with the assistance Serkin was founded in the Marlboro Music Festival (pc. Vermont) - an annual festival of chamber music. Serkin died in Bratlboro (pc. Vermont), May 8, 1991.
