Biography Chaplin Nikolai Pavlovich
(1902, s Rognedino Roslavl district of Smolensk province - 22.09.1938), one of the organizers and leaders of the Young Communist League. Born in the family priest. From 1912 he studied at the Smolensk realschule. October 1917 met a staunch supporter of the Bolsheviks. In 1918, organized in Smolensk, a revolutionary youth cell, later the Young Communist League. Since 1919, Chairman of the Smolensk provincial-municipal committee of the Komsomol. In the same year became a member of the RCP (b). Delegate III Congress RKSM. In 1920 elected Chairman of the Smolensk, and then the Tyumen regional committee of Komsomol, the Secretary of the Transcaucasian Regional Committee of the Komsomol. In 1924 - 28 - General Secretary of the Komsomol Central Committee, alternate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b) (1924-34). Member of the Central Executive Committee and Central Executive Committee of the USSR (1924-1928). In 1923, aims at the economic work in the Central Council chairman Vsekopita. In 1933 appointed head of the Political Department of the Murmansk railroad. He was awarded the Order of Lenin (1935). In 1937 moved to the chief of the South-Eastern Railway. Arrested in 1937, shot Sept. 22, 1938. This is Chaplin named one of the streets in Smolensk.
