Biography ATHENS (Athenaios)
Athens (Athenaeum), Athenaios, from Naucratis in Egypt, III in. n. e., Greek scholar. Written product called Sophists at the feast (Deipnosphistai) in 30 books, of which only 15 survived. It embodies in the form of conversation, which was in the house of a wealthy Roman Larensiya lead to the feast of 29 representatives of various professions: philosophers, philologists, physicians, speakers and musicians. The subject of it are a variety of topics, often quite insignificant, but showing remarkable erudition of the author.
