P opovich Pavel Romanovich - pilot cosmonaut. Born October 5, 1930 in the city Uzin now Belotserkovsky district, Kiev region (Ukraine). Ukrainetz. During the Great Patriotic War was the territory occupied by Nazi troops. Since 1947 he lived in the city of Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk region. In 1951 he graduated from Magnitogorsk Magnitogorsk industrial technical and flying club.
In the Army from 1951. In 1951-1952 he studied at the Stalingrad Military Aviation School (Novosibirsk), in 1952-1953 Á? in the 52 th Military Aviation School (pos.Vozzhaevka).
