P opovich Pavel Romanovich - pilot cosmonaut. Born October 5, 1930 in the city Uzin now Belotserkovsky district, Kiev region (Ukraine). Ukrainetz. During the Great Patriotic War was the territory occupied by Nazi troops. Since 1947 he lived in the city of Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk region. In 1951 he graduated from Magnitogorsk Magnitogorsk industrial technical and flying club.
In the Army from 1951. In 1951-1952 he studied at the Stalingrad Military Aviation School (Novosibirsk), in 1952-1953 Á? in the 52 th Military Aviation School (pos.Vozzhaevka). In 1954 he graduated from the Higher officer aviation training schools Air Force (Grozny). He served in line units the Air Force.
In 1960 enlisted in the detachment of Soviet cosmonauts (1960 Group Air Force Á•¿ 1). It has been fully trained to fly on ships such as the East.
12 Á? 15 August 1962 made his first space flight as the pilot of a spaceship Vostok-4 Á• Á•? duration of 2 days 23 hours. This was the first group space flight (with the spacecraft Vostok-3 Á• Á•?).
