Domitius Mars; Domitius Marsus, I in. BC. e. / I. n. e., Roman poet. Belonged to the circle of poets who patronized the Patron. His friendly attitude towards Virgil and Tibull expressed in the funeral epigram, written after the death of both poets in the 19 g. BC. D.M. was the author of a collection of epigrams characteristic title cicuta who knew and admired Marcial. Martsialu was known and a collection of love elegies DM on Melun. In the form of elegies were probably written and fabella, 9 books was known already in V. n. e. D.M. attributed to an epic poem of the Amazon (Amazonis) and prose on a strict or joking manner of speech (De urbanitate). From his works preserved only fragments.
