He was born in Serpukhov in the family barber, . graduated from the parochial school, . since 1901 he studied painting in the studio in Moscow and in the school of icon painting, . From 1914 to 1921 years, Andreev was at the front: before 1918 - at the First World War, and later - the Civil War. From 1908 to 1958 work Andreeva exhibited by 63 photographic exhibitions in Russia, the USSR and abroad, chronically awards various merit.
The most famous works Andreeva - landscapes and genre scenes. After the show '10 years of Soviet photography '(1928) and "Masters of Soviet photography' (1935) Andreev has been criticized for formalism and decadence, backwardness so. Trying to get out of the situation of official obstruction, Andreev in 1937 with a group of Moscow and provincial photographers (which also included a. Rodchenko, A. Shaikhet, B. Ignatovich, L.
