In 1148 Rostislav came to Kiev to Izyaslav Mstislavich and announced that he had quarreled with his father, who did not want to give him a parish in the land of Suzdal. Izyaslav gave him Gorodets Ostersky, Buzhsk, Mezhibozhe, Kotelnitsu and two more towns. But on his return from a hike Suzdal boyars told Izyaslav Rostislav though that a lot of evil intention, incited against him Berendeys and Kiev, and if God had helped his father, he came to Kiev, took to Izyaslav home and family. Izyaslav ordered Rostislav put into the boat with four guards and send up the Dnieper; squad, he was captured, and property confiscated. Brothers Andrew, Hleb and Mstislav buried him in the church of St.. Michael, near the tombs of his uncles Andrew and Svyatoslav Vladimirovich.
