Nicholas Gavrilovich Slavyanov was born in 1854.

Remarkable Russian inventor Nicholas Gavrilovich Slavyanov education was a mining engineer, metallurgist, worked at one of Russia's biggest gun factories of Perm. 30-year-old head of the gun and mechanical industries, H. G. Slavyanov saw the future in electrical engineering metallurgy, metal. He deeply studied this area of science.

After 6 years after the discovery of Nikolai Nikolaevich Benardos arc welding Nicholas Gavrilovich Slavyanov creatively developed this idea by developing and applying the weld metal electrode. For the first time in the world, this method was introduced Slavyanov at the Perm factory. He designed and tested an automatic device to adjust the length of the arc. This was the prototype of modern welding machines. The invention has immortalized his name and is of great importance to this day. So Slavyanov was written by one of the most important pages in the history of technology - arc welding of metals, which finds the most widely used in modern industry and construction.

Nicholas Gavrilovich Slavyanov died in 1897.
