Biography CHEREPANOV Efim Alekseevich
Efim A. Cherepanov was born in 1774. He was a serf of the Ural gornozavodchikov Demidov. Only the 60 th year of life Efim Alekseevich got his freedom of inventive activity.

His invention Efim Alekseevich created together with his son, Miron Yefimovich Cherepanov. Talented engineers sent their owners to familiarize themselves with the latest technology in Russia and abroad - in Sweden and England. There, they successfully took over the technical expertise, and studied new items.

Natural talent and the experience allowed Cherepanov produce more than 20 original steam engines of various capacities, to create a number of unique machines: lathes, screw cutting, planing, drilling, nail and other.

The most remarkable thing Efim Alekseevich and Myron Yefimovich Cherepanovs Russia was the construction of the first railway and the very first in the country of steam engines.

The first track ( "kolesoprovody") had a length of 800 meters, the speed of the engine ( "land boat"), built in 1834, was only 15 km / h. But it is with them and began the history of railways in Russia.

In 1842, Efim A. Cherepanov died.
