Basil Gavrilivich Grabin was born Dec. 28, 1899 (January 9, 1900), in Ekaterinodar, died in 1980.
Born in a working class family. His professional life began at 13. In 1923 he graduated from the Artillery School in St. Petersburg and in 1930 the Artillery Academy.
From 1930 to the design work, from 1934 the chief designer of the plant, in 1942-46 Head of the Central Artillery Design Bureau, since 1946 director and chief designer of Research Institute.
Since 1960 also busy teaching. Grabin developed and applied methods of designing high-speed artillery systems with the simultaneous design process, . which allowed to organize in a short time the mass production of new weapons for the Soviet Army in the Great Patriotic War 1941-45, .
Hero of Socialist Labor (1940), Doctor of Technical Sciences (1941), Professor (1951).
USSR State Prize (1941, 1943, 1946, 1950).
Awarded 4 orders of Lenin, 2 orders of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov 1 st and 2 nd degree, Order of Labor Red Banner, Order of the Red Star and medals.
