Biography Jack Kilby
Kilby (Kilby), Jack, an American electronics engineer, creator of the world's first integrated circuit.
In 1948 he graduated from the University of Illinois, then studied the transistors in a firm producing radio components. In 1958 he joined the company Texas Instruments, which was then directed its efforts on the miniaturization of electronic circuits. Watching the laborious process of assembling thermoelectric micro-electronic components that are being fed into the pile, Kilby realized that the circuit components can be fabricated on a single germanium plate at the same time. In 1959 the company introduced the world's first integrated circuit of five elements, placed on a germanium plate length of 1 cm. All five elements were fused together the finest wires. However, the method Kilby was too complicated, and its IS were soon driven out schemes Noyce.
