Marat Sultanov Abdyrazakovich

Abdyrazakovich Marat Sultanov was born on Dec. 5, 1960 in Frunze. In 1983 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (MISA) and then stayed on a research assistant at the Department of Materials semiconductors.

. In 1987, Sultanov was appointed junior lecturer of the Kyrgyz National University and later became an assistant professor.

. In 1992, Sultanov, head of department, then became the Acting Deputy Chairman of the Board, and later - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic
. In 1994, Sultanov was appointed chairman of the National Bank.

In 1998, Sultanov was appointed Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan. In addition, he served as chairman of the Central Treasury of Kyrgyzstan.

In 2000, Sultanov was elected to the Kyrgyz Parliament (Parliament of Kyrgyzstan). Parliament took over as chairman of the committee on budget and finance and led the deputy group "El uchun" ( "People Power").

. In March 2005, Sultanov was elected Kyrgyz Parliament of the third convocation.

. March 2, 2006 Sultanov was elected speaker (Speaker) of the Kyrgyz parliament
. Back in February some of the media called him a candidate among the possible contenders. This Sultanov emphasized its centrist platform, though, according to the press, first and foremost a supporter and fellow countryman President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. According to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, he made a figure on which the majority of deputies staked "as a man capable of finding a compromise" with the presidential team. Several publications noted that before his election as Speaker of the Parliament itself Sultanov has repeatedly stated that it is not going to run for the presidency.

. He is author of more than 50 scientific papers in the field of semiconductor physics has state awards.
