Biography Georgiy Viktorovitch Movsesyan
Georgiy Viktorovitch Movsesyan (2.08.1945, Kharkov - 7.11.2011, Moscow) was a Soviet and Russian composer. He was Honoured Art Worker of the Russian Federation (1995), People's Artist of Russia (2001). Georgiy Movsesyan's parents were actors, he also followed in their steps. In 1964 he graduated from musical school named after Gnesins, accordion class. The composer became widely famous for the songs 'Moi Goda, Moyo Bogatstvo' and 'Provody Lyubvi' , performed by Vakhtang Kikabidze, as well as the song 'Bereza' written by Anna German. Georgiy worked with such poets as Robert Rozhdestvensky, Mikhail Tanich. Georgy was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia in 2001. In 1995 he was awarded the title of Honoured Art Worker. In 1983 Movsesyan was awarded the premium of Leninsky Komsomol.
Movsesyan's songs were performed by famous singers: Iosif Kobzon, Maya Kristalinskaya, Eduard Khil, Lev Leshenko, Muslim Magomaev, Anne Veski and others.
He died of heart attack on the 7th of November, 2011.
