Kowalewski says goodbye to Spartak
The Polish goaltender Wojciech Kowalewski opts to leave Spartak Moscow.
Wojciech Kowalewski used to be Spartak first choice keeper for three consecutive years.
Things changed for the international goalie when Spartak acquired Stipe Pletikosa who is now the first choice keeper in the team.
The change made Kowalewski, whose contract expires at the end of the season, eye early termination of the agreement.
"I am likely to leave Spartak in the near future," said Wojciech Kowalewski to Sport Express.
"We`ve discussed the matter with the coach Stanislav Cherchesov and he does not seem to mind."
"He said Pletikosa was the first choice keeper in the team so no one can guarantee that I will get another chance."
"My ambition does not let me be satisfied with the way things stand now, moreover I have not seen action for quite a time and play is like a drug for me."
"I have a nubmer of offers both from foreign and Russian clubs."
"It is my agent who has to deal with the clubs and he lets me know only about worthy offers."
"Two Russian clubs are really interested in my service but I can`t be more specific now."
"Anyway I keep no grudges against Spartak and I`ve congratulated the team on their win over Rostov."
"There may be another keeper in the goal but it was not that long ago that we came out on the field together."
"So I still care about the team`s success and the players of the team."
