Law enforcement bodies of Latvia brought the case to the African American activist, fighting in LNR
Law enforcement security (FS) of Latvia has opened criminal proceedings concerning African-American political activist from Latvia Benes Ayo participating in hostilities within the self-proclaimed Luhansk national Republic (LNR), informs a press-service of the MIA.
The process is started after the entry into force of change in the Criminal law of Latvia, According to which a criminal offence became unlawful participation in armed conflict abroad, the financing of such conflicts, as well as the recruitment, training and sending other persons to participate in such conflicts. According to the new norm, such actions have the ability to result in penalties in the form of punishment for the term up to ten years.
