From the national team were Alexander Grischuk, Peter Svidler, Evgeny Tomashevsky, Ian Nepomniachtchi and Dmitry Jakovenko. The women's team also claimed victory, winning eight matches and one ending in a draw, gaining 17 points from 18. In its composition were made by Alexandra Kosteniuk, Kateryna Lagno, Valentina Gunina, Alexandra goryachkina and Anastasia Bodnaruk.
Both teams went through the tournament without a single defeat. Both the national teams of Russia first won together only once - in 2007 at the European Championships, held in Heraklion (Greece).
