Clinton became a candidate for President of the United States
Having met with thousands of his supporters in Brooklyn on Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton marked the historic moment.
"Thanks to you, we reached," she said with thunderous applause. "For the first time in the history of our country woman can become a candidate for President of the United States. Today's victory is not about one person, it belongs to generations of men and women who fought and made this moment possible."
Clinton was able to gain the necessary votes for the nomination for President. Late on Monday night, Clinton scored 2,838 votes. But Clinton decided to wait until Tuesday to begin celebrating.
"Your efforts have helped to gather a majority of votes of the voters," Clinton said. Clinton thanked his opponent in the primaries of the Democratic party, Bernie Sanders. Sanders, who's been campaigning in California on Tuesday, acknowledged the appointment of Clinton.
Clinton then turned his attention to Republican candidate Donald trump, with whom she will face in the General election.
"Okay, what did Donald trump do not believe that we are stronger together," she said. "He abused their main opponents and members of their families, attacked the press, who asked the tough questions, defamed Muslims and immigrants. He wants to win, fueling the fear."
She added, "And reminds us daily how great he is."
Clinton called on Democrats, Republicans and independents to reject the vision of trump, and instead of having to select it.
