The new President of Moldova has become Igor Dodon
The new President of Moldova became the party leader of socialists Igor Dodon. According to the CEC of the country, he received more than 55% of the vote.
To celebrate at the headquarters of Igor Dodon started, barely made the closing of the polls. On the monitors, where in online mode, you can monitor the counting of votes, the candidate immediately took the 1st place. But by midnight it became clear: the presidential race was won by Igor Dodon. The leader of the party of socialists of Moldova immediately declared his priorities: friendship with Russia and joining the Customs Union. So, for these values and voted by the majority of the population.
To avoid claims to count and could not be challenged, the election worked several hundred international observers monitoring mission from the CIS and the European Union. Maia Sandu, advocated the European integration and the Atlantic Alliance, supported also quite a lot of people. Igor Dodon immediately reaches the opponent's hand to reconcile the warring parties.
Maia Sandu in front of their supporters did not appear. Formally the head of the Republic has not changed. The powers of the previous President, according to the Moldovan legislation, expire at the moment when the newly elected President officially takes office. The inauguration usually takes place no earlier than 2 weeks after election day.
