The husband of Queen Elizabeth II leaves public life
Prince Philip, 95-year-old husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II leaves public life, said the representative of Buckingham Palace.
The representative reported that the Prince will cease to take part in public events since September. The Queen, of which 91 had gradually reduced his public appearances in recent years but will continue to perform their duties, supported by other members of the Royal family.
"His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh decided that this fall it will no longer conduct public events. In making that decision, Duke has the full support of Queen", - said in a statement Buckingham Palace.
"Prince Philip will attend previously scheduled meetings in the period up to August, both individually and in support of the Queen". After that, the Duke will not accept new invitations for visits, although he may from time to time to participate in some public events.
Queen will "continue to carry a full program of official speeches", which is supported by other members of the Royal family.
