Jane Lynch says getting married was the "most magical day of her life"
The actress wed her partner Dr. Lara Embry in an intimate ceremony in Massachusetts on Monday. The couple announced they were engaged in April, but managed to keep the date of their big day a secret.
Jane is well-known for playing hard-nosed cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in American musical show Glee. Her co-star Matthew Morrison was thrilled to hear she had tied the knot, although he was not at the ceremony. As soon as he discovered she had married, Matthew texted Jane with his congratulations.
"We`ve known for a while," he explained to E! Online. "I texted her and she texted me back and said it was the most magical day of her life. I`m so happy for her."
Matthew added he is looking forward to seeing Jane so he can hear all about the nuptials. He already has the perfect wedding gift picked out, but refused to reveal what he has chosen.
"I`m not going to tell you what it is because I don`t want to ruin it for her," he laughed.
Jane and Lara are said to have married in front of around 20 guests at the Blue Heron Restaurant. Jane wore black trousers and a pink silk blouse, while Lara opted for a black and white cocktail dress.
After the ceremony, guests feasted on duck, sea bass and vanilla cake.
