Taylor Lautner will only bare his body if the role requires it
Although the hunky 18-year-old actor is happy to show off his impressive six-pack in the `Twilight` movies - in which he plays Jacob Black - he isn`t prepared to de-robe in every film he appears in.
Speaking about his role in `Valentine`s Day`, he said: "Originally I was supposed to take off my shirt in the movie. The script said we were walking into school and [my character] Willy takes off his shirt. I said, `Whoa, whoa, whoa. Time out. He`s gonna take off his shirt in the middle of school? No, no, no.` The reason I took off my shirt for `New Moon` is because it`s written in the book that way. And there`s reasons behind it."
Although he is reluctant to show off his sculpted physique for any role, Taylor admits the prospect of playing werewolf Jacob in the `Twilight` series inspired him in the gym.
Taylor - who had to go back for a second audition for the part - told the July issue of America`s GQ magazine: "I`m in the gym, and I`m doing reps, and I`m reading the books, and I`m studying the character. I`m just saying to myself, `I want this role. I love this role. I`m not gonna lose it. And I`m gonna know it better than anybody, and I`m gonna do that extra rep, because I`m gonna be Jacob Black.` "
