BARE Henry

Baer, Henry, (1913-1957), Luftwaffe fighter. Born March 25, 1913 in Leipzig. Army service began a private. The first enemy aircraft shot down in September 1939. At various times he served in the 51 th, 71 th, 1 st and 3 rd regiments of fighter aircraft. Rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (oberstleytenant). Total shot down 220 enemy aircraft, taking 9 th place in the list of Luftwaffe aces. By sheer number of British and American fighter planes (124) ranked first in the statistics of the Luftwaffe on the Western Front.
