Cameron Diaz: I want to work on farm
Cameron Diaz feels a "primal" urge to spend a year working on a farm.
The 37-year-old actress has been travelling the globe relentlessly since she catapulted to fame when she starred in 1994 comedy The Mask. She is "1000% grateful" for her success, but has decided she needs some time off from Hollywood.
The blonde beauty wants to ditch her creature comforts and spend 12 months "working the land" on an anonymous American farm.
"I`ve always been on the move," she said in an interview with British newspaper The Daily Mirror. "So what I`d love to do is spend a whole year in one place, on a farm.
"I`d get to raise my own crops and livestock, and for once just see how life is cultivated. It`s almost like this primal thing. I really just feel as if the earth is where we all come from and we have nothing if we don`t have soil, water and sun.
"I`ve read a lot about agriculture and I feel the need inside me to work with the earth in some way. I guess it would be like a painter having to paint."
Cameron also opened up about her desire to settle down and start a family. The star says she might want children in the future, but is "very happy" with the way her life is now without them.
"I knew all along that if I had a child I wouldn`t be having all the other things I wanted in my life," she explained. "At some point I`ll either want kids or make the decision that I don`t. At the moment I`m very happy with things the way they are."
