Taylor Lautner: Fame is like a different universe
Taylor Lautner thinks being famous is like living in a "parallel universe".
The 18-year-old actor shot to fame playing werewolf Jacob Black in the popular Twilight film franchise. He was just 16 when the first film was released, and Taylor is often amazed by how much his life has changed.
He is now followed almost everywhere he goes by a horde of screaming fans, but insists the attention hasn`t gone to his head.
"I`m the same person I always have been, but it`s almost like you live in two different worlds," he explained. "When you go into this business, you film movies, go to events and fans recognise you.
"It`s like living in a parallel universe. But when you go back to your regular world and you`re with your family and friends, nothing has changed at all."
Taylor`s co-star Kristen Stewart detests being in the spotlight and is often photographed making obscene gestures at the paparazzi. Taylor understand how Kristen feels, but is more accepting of the attention he attracts because he sees it as a necessary evil.
"I continue to tell myself that it comes with the job description," he told the British edition of OK! magazine. "What we do has pros and cons.
"Attention definitely comes with it, but the attention comes from the fans and the fans are the reason we are where we are today, so we`re thankful for it."
