Katy Perry is donating proceeds from her new single
The 27-year-old singer will give the profits from download sales of her current track `Part of Me` to the MusiCares organisation, which provides financial, medical and personal assistance to musicians in need.
She tweeted: "My proceeds of #PARTOFME from ITUNES & others will go to one of my favorite charities for the arts, MUSICARES; (sic)"
The move comes after Katy also offered a signed guitar for auction in aid the GRAMMY Charities, MuisCares and the Grammy Foundation.
Bidding on the instrument currently stands at $1,500 and closes tomorrow (16.02.12).
Other lots on offer at the auction, which can be found at ebay.com/GRAMMY include VIP lounge tickets to the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals; guitars autographed by Jeff Beck, Coldplay,Tom Petty, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Slash, and signed memorabilia from Adele, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton and Usher.
The highest bid currently stands at $6,700 for a Ukelele signed by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder and a copy of his solo album `Ukelele Songs`.
The lots have varying closing dates, but the final bids auctions close on February 23.
