Antonio Banderas falls in love wife Melanie Griffith "again and again"
The `Black Gold` actor has been married to the actress since 1996 and despite going through some tough times together, he says their love for each other has managed to get them through any tribulation.
He said: "The secret to our marriage is as complicated and as simple: we love each other. We`ve gone past that first intoxicating rush of love, and we`ve stayed on the path through crises and difficulties, and now we`ve opened up to the possibility of falling in love with each other again and again."
Antonio says the couple - who have 14-year-old daughter Stella together - endured their toughest time in 2009, when Melanie sought treatment for addiction to prescription drugs.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, he said: "We went through a lot of s**t. Melanie was addicted. But the whole family came together for her, for the mother. And she did very well."
Antonio says as soon as he met Melanie - who had two children from two previous marriages - on the set of `Two Much` in 1995 he knew she was the one for him and was prepared to move from his native Spain to America to be with her.
He said: "I met Melanie and that was it. That`s what brought me physically to America. Because she came with kids whereas I didn`t have kids from my first marriage."
