Karpov - candidate for president
Several national federations started a proposal to XII World Champion Anatoly Karpov to put forward his candidature during elections of International Chess Federation president.
But, by words of chess gross master, he is not ready to accept this proposal. He needs to weigh all "pro" and "contra".
Karpov thinks that results of Kirsan Ilyumzhinov work as a president of FIDE are poor.
"Title of world champion is totally discredited at present moment, lots of international tournaments disappear. Dictate and disorder rules FIDE. Ilyumzhinov doesn`t know chess well, and doesn`t have time and desire to learn about them. But chess world disputes not Ilyumzhinov himself, but people who surround him".
Despite Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, famous Dutch businessman Bessel Cock registered as candidate for position of FIDE president.
