Russia to be president of G8
An important milestone in the history of Russia will be overcome on January when Russia first time is the president of G8 - eight industrialized country.
Other members of G8 are not in festive mood - there is troublesome feeling of inevitability about Russian chairmanship.
The problem is partly because Russia is a "new child of the coalition".
Some people think Russian presidency is the reason that finance ministers and heads of central banks are going to hold a special meeting this Friday and Saturday in London trying to finish everything they can while Britain is the president of G8.
Russian president Vladimir Putin will receive a summit of G8 on July in St. Petersburg where George Bush, Jacques Chirac, Toni Blair and other leaders to discuss problems of energy policy, education and preventive health care.
"Russia has much oil and many warheads", - said some source when he explained why Russia is in the club but is not a full member.
