New criminal case instituted against Hodorkovsky and Lebedev
General Office of Public Prosecutor brought an action against ex-owners of "YUKOS" Mikhail Hodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev, who are already in prison.
Within the frames of this case investigators began to confiscate documents from branch of "VSMPO-Avisma" corporation.
"According to criminal case, Mikhail Hodorkovsky, Platon Lebedev and several unknown yet persons committed a theft of 10% of "Avisma" shares for period since 1994 till 1996". Investigation group withdraws protocols of stock-holder`s and director`s meetings, projects on investment program of 1994, financial balances and other documents.
Meanwhile, investigator Timanov refused to confirm or deny information about criminal case against Hororkovsky and Lebedev, connected with "Avisma". Lawyer of Hodorkovsky declared that he doesn`t know about legal proceedings against his client. Moreover, actions, which Office of Public Prosecutor considers suspicious dated by 1994. Therefore, criminal proceedings can not be instituted against Hodorkovsky and Lebedev as ten years` prescription has passed.
