More than 700 wild birds died from bird flu in South Russia for 1.5 months
From mid-November more than 700 of wild birds have died from bird flu in south of Russia, informed the head of Southern regional center of Russian Emergency Ministry Sergey Kudinov.
"More than 700 birds, swans in majority, have died ", - said he to journalists.
Dead birds were found on territory of Astrakhan and Kalmykia. 700 of them were diagnosed the bird flu. At present moment bird plague is not registered.
Kudinov didn`t exclude the possibility that situation will repeat the next year. "There is a possibility that bird flu will return to south", - he said. Among territories, where bird flu could be registered, Kudinov named Krasnodarsky krai in particular.
Federal service of veterinarian and phytosanitarian inspection has registered 2 subjects of Russian Federation, where situation with bird flu is considered as unfavorable - Astrakhanskaya oblast and Kalmykia republic.
