Russia and Ukraine came to agreement on mutually beneficial base
Issue about Russian gas supplies to Ukraine is settled, informed presidents of "Gazprom" Aleksey Miller and "Ukrainian Naftogas" Aleksey Ivchenko during mutual press-conference.
A contract on Russian gas supply to Ukraine at price of $230 per thousand of cubic meters was signed for 5-year term, informed Miller. Transit rate increases to $1.6 for thousand of cubic meters per 100 km.
"From January 1 Gazprom will supply gas for Ukrainian consumers through RosUkrenergo", - said Miller.
By his words, Russia will pay for transit by money. These payments are not connected with prices on gas, supplied to Ukraine.
Miller informed that negotiations with Ukrainian side successfully ended at 2:30 a.m. by Moscow time, and Gazprom is completely satisfied with achieved results".
The head of Ukrainian Naftogas Aleksey Ivchenko announced that he is also satisfied with results of negotiations.
"We are pleased with results of negotiations, which ended tonight. We came to mutual agreement on mutually beneficial and, therefore, mutually acceptable base, which gives opportunity to provide Ukraine with gas in full amount from one side and to provide transit of Russian gas to Ukraine from another", - said Ivchenko.
"We will buy gas of different origination - and Russian, and Middle Asian - from RosUkrenergo company. The price of gas on border Ukraine-Russia will amount to $95 for thousand of cubic meters", - informed the head of Ukrainian Naftogas.
"Price on gas and transit rate are not connected with each other because we will pay money for gas and Gazprom will pay money for Russian gas transit to Europe. The transit rate increased from $1.09 to $1.6 for thousand of cubic meters per 100 km. Therefore, our relationships completely turn to market base and serve the needs of both companies", - said Ivchenko.
