Russia to invest $40 millions in struggle against bird flu
Russia intends to invest $40 millions in struggle against bird flu, informed representative of Russian delegation at international conference, devoted to struggle against bird flu, Alexander Pankin.
By his words, Russia is ready "to make contribution in world efforts" of struggle against bird flu and intends "to invest more than $40 millions during 3-year term".
These funds will be spent "on support and consolidation of laboratory centers network in Russia for control, detection and prevention of bird flu cases on territory of Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States", added Pankin.
"Such measure will prepare us to possible further spread of bird flu", - emphasized representative of Russian delegation.
Pankin informed that Russia also plans to invest $3 millions in trust fund for struggle with bird flu spread, establishing by World bank.
"Talking about expert support, Russia always renders assistance to neighbor countries, first of all in liquidation of bird flu cases in southern republics of CIS", - said Pankin. Russia also intends to consult representatives of USA and EC about co-operation in non-admission of bird flu pandemic.
International conference of struggle against bird flu was organized by Chinese government, European Committee and World bank, and takes place in Peking.
