Russian Nadezhda Petrova reached quarter-final of Australian Open
Russian tennis-player Nadezhda Petrova has reached a quarter-final of Australian Open championship, which is held in Melbourne these days.
On Sunday Russian sportswoman, ranked 6-th in the championship, defeated co-patriot Elena Vesnina. The game lasted for 62 minutes and ended with score 6:3, 6:1 in favor of Petrova.
In quarter-final Petrova will play with either Russian Maria Sharapova (ranked 4-th) or Slovakian Daniela Khantukova (17-th).
Another Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova couldn`t get to the number of 8 strongest tennis-players of the championship. On Sunday she lost to first world racket American Lindsey Davenport. The score of the game was 6:2, 6:4. In quarter-final Davenport will play with Belgium Justine Anen-Ardenn (8-th), who defeated Spanish Virginia Ruano-Paskual with score 6:0, 6:3.
