Maria Sharapova lost Australian Open semifinal
Belgium Justine Henin-Hardenne became first finalist of Australian Open tennis championship.
In semifinal she defeated strongest Russian tennis-player Maria Sharapova with score 4:6, 6:1, 6:4.
In final Henin-Hardenne will play with winner of the match between Kim Clijsters (Belgium) and Amely Moresmo (France).
In first set Sharapova was more initiative, during second set a situation has changed. During third decisive set, with score being 2:3 and 40:30, Maria Sharapova hit the service line but judges gave point to Henin-Hardenne, considering the ball was out. As a result Russian sportswoman lost the serving.
At score of 3:5 Sharapova won serving of the Belgium tennis-player and reduced lag in score, but lost decisive point during own serving.
As a reminder, in last year`s semifinal Sharapova lost to Serena Williams, who won tournament afterwards. Henin-Hardenne was champion of Australian Open-2004.
