Problems of north nations in Yugra to be solved through deer-raising development
A work of international program of deer-raising development "Ofelas" will be activated in Yugra.
As president of public organization "Rescue of Yugra" Alexander Novyukhov has said, this project of "North forum" is realized for third year - for this period 8 Yugra citizens have raised the level of their skills in educational center of deer-raising in Lapland. At present moment concrete suggestions of deer-raising industry restoration in Yugra are prepared. Governor of Yugra Alexander Filipenko intends to make them public during official visit to Lapland in 2006.
By words of Novyukhov, it is planned not only to regulate processing of venison, provide wide variety of products but also to introduce principally new approach of the production organisation in this industry (taking market economics into account). A special attention will be paid to the development of ethnic-cultural tourism. These measures will help to solve many problems of aboriginal population of the North. It should be mentioned that more than 20 thousands of aborigines live on territory of Yugra at present moment. They are engaged in traditional kinds of labour - fishing, deer-raising and hunting.
