Clothes by Chanel not to be sold in Russia anymore
Since March 2006 clothes produced by famous French house of fashion Chanel. Reportedly, Chanel have not prolonged the contract with the company "Mercury", which exclusively sold the clothes of this brand in Russia.
The official from "Mercury" confirmed that beginning from February the company ceases selling Chanel clothes and the only in Russia mono-brand Chanel boutique, which was located in Kutuzovsky prospect is closed down.
At the same time, "Mercury official" also noticed that the company went on presenting cosmetics and watches produced by Chanel on Russian market.
Russian department of French fashion house representative said, that "Chanel is not going to sell clothes in Russia for some time. But our clients travel all over the world, they know our boutiques in other countries".
Media reports say, that Chanel intends to sell clothes in Russia independently, as it already does in some Asia markets and in the USA. New boutique in Moscow is expected to open by autumn, 2006.
