Born January 29, 1860 in g. Taganrog Family Deli.

Chekhov's family went bankrupt and moved to Moscow and
Anton remained in Taganrog, where he graduated from high school and earned his living by giving private lessons.
. In 1879,
Chekhov went to Moscow and entered the Medical Faculty of Moscow University, graduating in 1884.
. In his student years worked with the comic magazines "Dragonfly", "Fragments", "Alarm".
. In 1886 and 1887 came the first two collections of stories.
. The most popular among readers enjoyed his stories "A Boring Story" (1889), . "Duel" (1891), . "The Chamber б? 6" (1892), . "Petticoat government" (1894), . "The house with an attic" (1896), . "Man in a Shell" (1898), . "Ionich" (1898), . "Lady with the Dog" (1899) and many others.,
. At the stage of Moscow Art Theater with great success staged the play "The Seagull" (1896), "Uncle Vanya" (1897), "Three Sisters" (1901), "The Cherry Orchard" (1904).
. All his works were repeatedly republished.
. In 1890 went to travel to Sakhalin
. Also visited India, Singapore, Istanbul, in Ceylon, etc.

Chekhov became a writer with a European reputation.
. In 1900 he was elected an honorary member at the elections office at the Pushkin St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences.

Chekhov in 10 volumes.

Chekhov traveled extensively in Europe
. In recent years he lived on his estate near Yalta for his health.
. He was married to Olga Knipper Leonardovna (1868 - 1959), actress of the Moscow Art Theater.
