John Williams was born on February 8, 1932 in New York (New York, USA). In 1948 his family moved to Los Angeles. There he enrolled at the University of California, at the same time took private composition lessons with Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. After serving in the Air Force John Williams returned to New York and enrolled in Dzhulliardovskuyu music school, where he studied classical piano. In New York he performed as a jazz pianist in clubs and recorded. Then Williams again moved to Los Angeles where he began his career in film. Since 1956, he composed various orchestras involved in writing music for films, he worked with Bernard Hermann, Alfred Newman, Franz Waxman. Soon, Williams are interested in compositional activity, and during the 1960's he wrote music for many television programs, having received for his work two Emmy.
