John Williams was born on February 8, 1932 in New York (New York, USA). In 1948 his family moved to Los Angeles. There he enrolled at the University of California, at the same time took private composition lessons with Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. After serving in the Air Force John Williams returned to New York and enrolled in Dzhulliardovskuyu music school, where he studied classical piano.
