Janis Lyn Joplin (Janis Lyn Joplin) was born January 19, 1943 in the town of Port Arthur, Texas. At seventeen she discovers the blues and decides to become a blues singer. Her idol was Bessie Smith, singing a Janis tried to imitate. After finishing school in 1960, Janice served some time in coffee shops and bars of various towns in Texas and other states. She went to San Francisco, where she sang with various groups and musicians. Once upon a street concerts and was even arrested for petty shoplifting.
Several times it has done in various institutions, including the University of Texas in the capital of Texas, Mr.. Austin, but never long delayed. She studied it well, but it led bitnichesky lifestyles, experimenting with alcohol and drugs.
In early 1996, she became the vocalist recently formed San Francisco group of "Big Brother and the Holding Company". With a lot of work, rehearsal lasted a full working day, and enjoyed a deserved popularity in San Francisco. The group then signed with a small Chicago-based record company "Mainstream" and writes a few singles, the first of which "Blindman / All Is Loneliness" was released in October 1966.
The Americas, and later worldwide fame after the show Janice "Big Brother And The Holding Company" at a rock festival in Monterrey in 1967. The group finds lucrative contracts and speaking before large audiences for big money. It turns out the album (recorded before Monterey), which is called "Big Brother And The Holding Company", and in September 1968, the firm Columbia - album "Cheap Trills", which is considered the best album.
In late 1968 Janice decided to leave the "Big Brother" and created his own group "Kozmic Blues Band", which came as a guitarist "Big Brother" by Sam Andrew. With many stands, and in August 1969 participated in the famous rock festival in Woodstock, and released in September, the album "I Got Dem Ol 'Kozmic Blues Again Mama!" well bought up. In early 1969, Mr. Janis serves reunited with "Big Brother", and then with his new band "Full Tilt Boogie Band" and is working on recording a new album which was released only after her death.
October 4, 1970, Mr. Janis Joplin was found dead in a Los Angeles-based motel "Landmark Hotel". Death was from a heroin overdose.
