Biography Joe Louis

Joe Louis burst onto the boxing in 1934, with the style and skills that few who saw. Familiar to many as "Corporal Brown", he won his first 27 fights, with 24 KOs. Among the losers, they were quite a few celebrities in those years.
Joe Louis was born May 13, 1914 in a large black family in Alabama in the American South, where problemma rassovoy discrimination at the time were still very relevant. His father worked on cotton plantations and the family constantly struggling with poverty.
In 1924 his family moved to Detroyd, where Joe started working with his father at the factory Ford. Despite the hard work he found time for boxing lessons and soon he was not equal in this big city.
After 10 years, after arriving in Detroyd, Louis won the Golden Gloves heavyweight among fans, paving the way for him to boxing. In the first year of professional boxing, he won 12 fights. His skill and reputation grew incredibly fast. Under his gloves could not resist former champions (Primo Carnera, Max Baer).
It was not until June 19, 1936, until he met Joe Louis in the ring with the German Max Shmellingom. To the surprise of 40 thousand spectators Louis was knocked out in 12th round. Entire course of the fight showed that "Corporal Brown" had underestimated his opponent, but he still was in the past world champion.
In 1937, after the victory over James J. Breddokom in the eighth round, Joe Louis became the sixteenth world champion in the heavyweight division. After this victory, Louis stated, "I do not want that to call me champ until I beat Shmellinga".
Soon the battle took place. In the presence of 70,000 spectators Joe Louis sent his opponent to knock over 2minuty and 4 seconds. Since then he rules on professional boxing for almost 12 years until 1949.
He had 71 professional boxing bout, scored 68 victories, 54 by knockout.
Joe Louis died in 1981.
