Kushnir works as a "free" musician, playing in various ensembles with Nikolai Panov, Stanislav Grigoriev, Alexei Kuznetsov, Alexander Rostotsky, Victor Dwoskin, Sergei Gurbeloshvili and other. He also participates in international projects with the American singer Deborah Brown, the English saxophonist Bill Skete, legends of American jazz - guitarist PE Farlou.
He participated in many jazz festivals in Russia, as well as in Bulgaria, France, Belgium, Britain, Sweden, Finland (including in Pori and Imatra), the Netherlands, Germany and Japan.

Kushnir was named the best young musicians, and one of the best jazz pianists of the country. In 1992.
