Biography Marko Balabanov
Born in 1837, studied theology at Constantinople, the Greek Academy, then right in Paris in 1870 - 74 years of published, together with P. Slaveikov, D. Tsankov etc.. biweekly "Chitalische" as forthcoming (unlikely, but not for the sake of censorship) to educate people as opposed to the problem of revolutionary, in 1874 - 76 years published a weekly magazine, The Age, banned in 1876. During the Russian-Turkish war of 1877 - 78, after the occupation of Bulgaria, the Russian authorities have designated B. Vice-Governor Tarnovo Province. He was a member of the Constituent National Assembly Tarnovo (1879), which ranged between conservatives (Stonlovym, Nachevichem, Grekov) and liberals (Karavelov, Tsankov, Slaveikov), often voted with the first. However, his proposal has been included in the Constitution an article which read: "titles of nobility and other differences, as well as the Order and shall not be permitted". After arrival in Bulgaria, Prince Alexander I (1879), . he was invited to the Ministry, . but he refused and took only the portfolio of Foreign Affairs in the first (conservative) cabinet Burmova, . fell immediately after the convening of the first regular National Assembly (1879),
. After the coup in 1881, changed the Constitution, B. joined the Liberal Party, but few take part in politics. In high school (university) in Sofia, he received the chair of the Faculty of Law and is a professor of hitherto. In 1911 he was appointed a member of the newly founded Academy of Sciences in Sofia. Translated into Bulgarian few comedies of Moliere and the novels of George Sand, in the seventies, he wrote in French brochures about Bulgaria. - See. YU.
