Biography USPENSKY Barlaam
Was bishop of Arkhangelsk, the Archbishop of Penza, then Tobolsk and Siberia. He died in 1876, Mr.. Barlaam was one of those rare we have an astronomy. He subscribed to on the subject of the book, acquired astronomical instruments and has monitored the movement of the stars. In 1857 and 1858 respectively Barlaam transmitted to the Holy Synod of their work: "Look at the great Indiction," in which he proposed to simplify the range of Easter, and "Perspectives on the Julian calendar, the Gregorian Egyptian and bring them". The Holy Synod gave to the works of Barlaam Moscow spiritual censorship, which, guided by the guidance of Metropolitan Filaret, did not allow them to print. In 1865, Mr.. Barlaam sent to the Synod of two new work: "Study on the surface of the Easter terms, XIV great Indiction permitted" and "Decision of the dispute between the Apostolic Church, east and west, about the time of the celebration of Easter".
