Biography Warnecke Alexander G.
(1782 - 1843), son of a furniture masters. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Levitsky and Shchukin. Having received the first gold medal, was sent abroad, where he stayed for seven years. In 1810, Mr.. a portrait of Count On. Potocki (located in the hall of the Academy of Fine Arts) - Academician. Taught portrait painting classes at the Academy of Fine Arts. Actively worked on the edition lithographs Society for the Promotion of Arts. Portraits of his works are in the museum of Alexander III (ms. Bungalows, 1824, VI. Grigorovich, self-portrait, P.A. Fedotova), the Tretyakov Gallery (Admiral Kotzebue, two self-portraits, General Ahverdova, Mrs. Ahverdovoy, Korsakov, AV. Stupina), in the Rumyantsev Museum, the Museum I.E. Tsvetkova in Moscow and many individuals. Some of the portraits Warneke (especially his own) designed a very interesting, and in them, despite strong painting and poor color, a lot of vitality.
