Biography Chun Doo Hwan
Chun Doo Hwan was born on January 18, 1931 in the city Naechonri, Korea (now South Korea). South Korean Jeong commanded a division in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He quickly received military ranks. After Park Chung Hee became the head of state in 1961, Hwang served as Minister of Internal Affairs (1961-62), and then chief of staff of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency. He has held several official posts and in 1978 became a general.

After the assassination of Park Chung Hee in October 1979, Hwang claimed investigate the circumstances and causes of death of the President. He was arrested several suspects and "neutralized" several suspected accomplices of a possible coup by military faction against another. Although the official president was Choi Kyu Ha, Hwang had the real positions of authority, and in April 1980 became head of the Korean CIA.
