Biography Caspar Berthelsen

(12.02.1585, Malmo, Sweden - 13.7.1629, Sora, Zealand, Denmark)
Doctor of Medicine, practiced in Wittenberg, then lectured on medicine at the University of Copenhagen. From 1613 to 1624, Mr.. was a canon in g. Roskilde (Zealand). B. belongs receiving recognition from the reading public treatise "Astrology, or the nature of stars ...", the first Latin edition of which appeared in 1607, Mr.. in Wittenberg (in 1624, Mr.. already appeared 7 th ed.). In this work B. concerns not only the traditional topics of astrological techniques and influences, but also discusses the influence of astrological factors on the life of Jesus Christ. B. believed that the solar eclipse, which occurred during the Passion of Christ, was not a natural, natural event, as well as the star of Bethlehem, which, according to BA, there was in the air of sublunary matter. B. also wrote several other works on astrological topics. He was the father of seven sons, two of whom (Thomas and Erasmus) also became well-known scientists.
