Reinhard Ludwig V.

Born in the village Voytovtsah (Poltava province), after graduating from the Kharkov University (1871) was left at the university and appointed a conservative Botanical Cabinet. As a student, P. published several papers on the morphology and systematics of algae. In the same, mostly, he continued to work towards, and subsequently printed in Russian and foreign editions of a number of studies that brought him the honorary recognition. These are his compositions: "Characteae Central and Southern Russia" (1872), "Zur Morphologie und Systematik der Bacillariaceen" (1875), "Diatomaceae Solovetsky Islands" (1880), "Algologicheskie study. I. Materials for the morphology and systematics of algae of the Black Sea "(1885)," Algae of Ufa and Orenburg provinces and other. In 1880, P. was invited to the chair of botany at the University of Novorossiysk, and since 1886 is full professor of the Kharkiv University. D. I.
