(1912-2001) His novels are translated into nearly 50 languages, has repeatedly portrayed, formed the basis of theatrical and radio plays, songs and even comic. Born August 10, 1912 in Ilhц?us (pc. Upon returning to his homeland in 1952, devoted himself entirely literary work, becoming a singer native Bahia, with its exotic tropical and pronounced African origin in culture. His novels are distinguished by an interest in folk traditions and magic ritual, the taste for life with all its joys.
