Biography Baccio D'Agnolo (Baccio d `Agniolo)
(1462-1543) Born May 15, 1462 in Florence. He studied the art of woodcarving from his father, then by Bernardo della Cecchi, Giuliano da Maya and Franchone. In 1491-1496 Baccio d'Anolo adorned with carvings in the chapel of Florence's Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, and in 1502-1503 performed similar work for the church of Sant Agostino in Perugia. It is easy knowing the principles of architecture, he devoted his subsequent creative work exclusively architecture. Around 1500, together with the architect Baccio Simone Kronaka worked to decorate the Great Hall of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, also in Florence, he built the Palazzo Taddei (from 1513). 1507 and 1515 Baccio was the chief architect of Florence Cathedral, where he worked with his brothers and Kronakoy Sangallo. He designed the bell tower for the basil Santo Spirito (1511) and San Minato al Monte (1524-1527), Palazzo Cocchi Serristori and the facade of the Palazzo Bartolini-Salimbeni (ca. 1520). Its architecture inherent strict elegance and simplicity. Died Baccio d'Anolo Florence May 6, 1543.
